Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of DealerSkill ("DealerSkill", "we", "us"), a training platform provided to car dealerships and their employees. By creating an account or using DealerSkill, you agree to these terms. If you use DealerSkill on behalf of a dealership, your dealership's agreement with DealerSkill also applies.
1. Accounts
- DealerSkill is invite-only. Accounts are created with an invitation from a dealership, and your dealership assigns your role and department.
- You must be at least 18. Use your own name and work email, keep your password private, and don't share your account.
- You're responsible for activity in your account. Tell your manager or us right away if you think it has been misused.
- If you invite people by email, only invite people who work with you and expect the invitation.
2. Your content
- You keep ownership of the videos, reflections, messages and other content you create. You give DealerSkill a limited license to store, process and display that content only as needed to provide the service, and according to the sharing choices you make and the visibility rules described in our Privacy Policy.
- Practice takes are role-play. Don't record real customers, their personal information, or anyone who hasn't agreed to be recorded. Don't upload confidential documents, deal jackets, credit information or other sensitive data.
- When you film a walkaround on your showroom floor, follow your dealership's rules and keep customers, their vehicles and anyone who hasn't agreed to be filmed out of the shot.
- Only upload content you have the right to share.
- If you connect LinkedIn, posts you publish from DealerSkill go out under your own LinkedIn account and LinkedIn's terms. DealerSkill posts only when you press Post. Follow your dealership's social media policy, and don't share other people's information or takes without their permission.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to follow the Community Guidelines. Don't harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone; don't post sexual, hateful or violent content; don't try to access other people's accounts or data; and don't disrupt or reverse-engineer the service. We and your dealership may remove content and suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these rules.
4. Managers, chat and monitoring
Your dealership's General Manager, managers and trainers can view the takes you share with them, your progress and your coaching history. The General Manager and managers can also read chat conversations in your dealership. AI practice conversations are private to you.
5. AI features
AI practice, AI feedback and delivery stats are automated practice aids. They can be imperfect, and they are not an evaluation of your job performance. Don't rely on AI output as legal, financial or compliance advice. Your manager's review is the official coaching for a take.
Prompts and templates in the Prompt Library are starting points. Use them only with AI tools your dealership approves, never paste in customers' personal information, and check every result before you use it.
Sky, the DealerSkill assistant, answers questions from your training material and the app's help. Like the other AI features, it can be wrong, so check anything important with your manager.
6. What DealerSkill is, and isn't
DealerSkill is a practice and coaching tool. Skill sign-offs, levels, badges and certificates show practice and manager approval within your dealership. They are not industry licenses, compliance certifications or professional qualifications. Training content is general guidance; always follow your dealership's policies and the laws that apply to you.
Vehicles and specials. The Vehicles tab shows model information from public sources (the EPA and NHTSA) and trims, prices and features researched from manufacturers and the automotive press. Prices are starting MSRPs and can change. A dealership that enters its website's specials page authorizes DealerSkill to read that page about once a week, openly identified as DealerSkillBot and following the site's robots.txt, and to show the offers it finds to that dealership's team. A manager can also upload a screenshot or PDF of the specials, which the dealership confirms it has the right to share with its team. Specials are read automatically and can be incomplete or out of date: confirm prices, terms and eligibility with the dealership before quoting a customer.
7. Rewards
Any rewards or bonuses shown in DealerSkill are set and paid by your dealership, not by DealerSkill. Questions about rewards should go to your dealership.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep DealerSkill available and secure, but it may occasionally be unavailable. We may improve, change or remove features. If we make material changes to these terms, we'll let you know in the app.
9. Ending access
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Your access ends if your dealership removes you or ends its subscription. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
DealerSkill is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which DealerSkill is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law where you live requires otherwise.
